Education & experience: BA, Psychology, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN; MPH, Policy and Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. Jeff started as the Center’s director in 1996. In addition to managing the Center’s operations, he has worked on a variety of projects in the region. The core areas of focus are working with substance abuse prevention coalitions and community projects that promote healthy eating and active living.

Education & experience: BA Hampshire College; MPH with a concentration in Community Health Education, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. Sarah joined the center in 2009 and it has given her the opportunity to continue her work on food systems-related projects, community development, capacity-building, advocacy and emerging data collection methodologies in various communities in Western MA.


Gail Gramarossa

Education & experience: BS Child Development/Mental Health, Tufts University, Medford, MA; Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in community health education, New York University, New York, NY; Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) since 1994. Gail joined the Center in 2011 and has worked with coalitions, local municipalities, community organizations, and policy-makers on substance abuse prevention, environmental strategies, social norms marketing, and public health planning.


Janet Lavin Grant

Education & experience: BA, Sociology, Simmons College, Boston, MA; MS, Public Health with a concentration in community health education, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Since joining the Center in 1995, Janet has worked with diverse groups on a variety of initiatives locally, regionally, and statewide. Working with coalitions, schools, and community based organizations, Janet provides training and technical assistance in coalition development, evidence-based prevention, choosing environmental strategies, social marketing, planning and conducting focus groups, survey development, and community health planning.


Miriam Jusino
Administrative Assistant

Education & experience: Certificate from Computer Communication Institute, Philadelphia, PA. Formerly administrative assistant for Lower Pioneer Valley Prevention Center, Miriam started working for the Center in 1999. Miriam has extensive experience in word processing, database applications, and office management which keep the Center running smoothly and efficiently.
