CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The NERMHC 2009 conference theme is From Disparities to Equity The Power to Make Change. The conference theme communicates the need to continue to create and maintain a health care and public health system that is fair, just, and impartial regardless of ethnicity, race, disability status, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status or age. Presenters must address the conference theme including (1) the impact and role of racism, bigotry, discrimination, and/or oppression and how these challenges are addressed within the strategy/intervention being presented and (2) how the strategy/intervention will impact future efforts to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in health.
